EchoTest
https://www.facebook.com/slickmachera/

EchoTest is the bass-centric progressive rock brainchild of Julie Slick (Adrian Belew Power Trio, Crimson ProjeKct) and Italian musician Marco Machera (Paul Gilbert). The sound they create is not quite what one would expect from a couple of traditionally low end instruments; it’s a reinvention of the role of solo electric bass and brilliantly displays the songwriting abilities of the duo… a captivating combination of loop music, ambient dreamy soundscapes and interlocking bass patterns, always melodic yet aggressive and edgy at times. Their live show also features drummer Alessandri Inolti (Fabrizio Morro) and Philly-area vocalist + multi-instrumentalist Jenny Founds (Start Making Sense).

Having met through the Three of a Perfect Pair Music Camp in 2011, bassists Julie Slick (Adrian Belew Power Trio) and Marco Machera started collaborating in April 2014 to play a short run of shows in Tuscany, after Julie’s European tour with The Crimson ProjeKCt. Very spontaneously, new songs were written during a few days of rehearsals. The impromptu bass duets ended up being so satisfying and well-received that Julie and Marco eventually decided to write and record more material together, eventually giving the project a name: EchoTest. The group’s live shows and albums feature many fascinating and legendary local and international artists (Pat Mastelotto, Tim Motzer, Zach LoPresti, Ali Wadsworth, Ian Gray, and Greg Rosen).

The sound they create is not quite what one would expect from a couple of traditionally low end instruments; it’s a reinvention of the role of solo electric bass and brilliantly displays the songwriting abilities of the duo… a captivating combination of loop music, ambient soundscapes and interlocking bass patterns, always melodic yet aggressive and edgy at times.

JANE GETTER PREMONITION featuring ADAM HOLZMAN
http://www.janegetter.com

Jane Getter – guitar, vocals
Adam Holzman (Steven Wilson, Miles Davis) – keyboards
Randy McStine (The Fringe, Lo-Fi Resistance) – guitar, vocals
Dave Johnsen (Project Object, Grandmothers of Invention ) – bass
Rocky Bryant (Peter Frampton, Dianne Reeves) – drums

According to Guitar Player Magazine, Jane Getter is
” the fieriest fretboarding female ever to strap on a Stratocaster.
She has played with many jazz and rock greats while garnering increasing recognition as a bandleader, gifted writer and instrumentalist.”

She has performed and recorded with many music icons, including legendary jazz/blues organist Brother Jack McDuff, Return To Forever drummer Lenny White, vocalist Ursala Dudziak, as well as Jaimoe (of the Allman Brothers), Michal Urbaniak, Kenny Garrett, Regina Carter, Headhunters drummer Mike Clark, The Roots The Jam and many others. She also played in The Saturday Night Live Band.

Jane Getters fourth album ON was released Oct 2, 2015 on Madfish Music, a division of Snapper Music and was submitted for a Grammy nomination 2016. Previous albums include three (2012) on Alternity Records, which was also submitted for a Grammy nomination in 2013. Her second release See Jane Run, (2005) on Alternity Records and her first album Jane (1999) was released on Lipstick Records.

ON features her new killer band, Jane Getter Premoniton, with Adam Holzman (Steven Wilson, Miles Davis), Bryan Beller (Joe Satriani, the Aristocrats) Chad Wackerman (Frank Zappa, Alan Holdsworth) and special guests Alex Skolnick (Testament, Ozzy Osborne) Corey Glover (Living Colour) and Theo Travis (David Gilmore. Porcupine Tree).

We will be playing the exciting and hard hitting music from our newly released album ON, on Madfish Music, along with a few older hits from three and See Jane Run. Get ready for some intense jams!

“Getter is clearly an impeccable guitarist and a fine singer”- Rebel Noise

“ON is an intersection between Larks Tongue In Aspic King Crimson and Power and the Glory Gentle Giant” – Popdose

Having met through the Three of a Perfect Pair Music Camp in 2011, bassists Julie Slick and Marco Machera started collaborating in April 2014, when Julie flew to Italy after her Crimson ProjeKCt European tour, to play a short run of shows in Tuscany. The rehearsal went very well, and very spontaneously, some brand new songs were written and in turn, played to some very appreciative Italian audiences. The impromptu ‘bass duets’ ended up being so satisfying and well-received that Julie and Marco eventually decided to write more material together and record an album, “Fourth Dementia” (July 2014).
The project reinvents the role of electric bass and brilliantly displays the songwriting abilities of the duo; a captivating combination of loop music, ambient soundscapes and interlocking bass patterns, always melodic yet aggressive and edgy at times.
On this very special album release tour, the duo will be joined by legendary drummer Pat Mastelotto (King Crimson, Mr Mister, XTC, Stick Men, Chrysta Bell), and guitarist extraordinaire Tim Motzer (Ursula Rucker, David Sylvian, Markus Reuter, DJ King Britt, Burnt Friedman, Jaki Liebezeit, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Jamaaladeen Tacuma). Designer Dejha Ti will accompany the music with her stunning visuals that will surely render this a night not soon to forget (and certainly not be missed)!

Out of the Beardspace

http://www.beardspace.com

beardspace

A six-piece psychedelic-technical explosion of sound and color. A wide range of strong emotions captured through sound … planned sections of improvisation combined with intricate composition. Sometimes mellow and pretty with vocal harmonies—sometimes heavy and ripping with guitars, drums and synths—always grooving. The Beardly Beast that will certainly move you ’til the end.

Out of the Beardspace is a six-piece experimental rock band from South Jersey. Since their formation in the summer of 2010,they have released two EPs and a full-length album, and played all over the Philadelphia/south Jersey area at venues such as the Trocadero, the Stone Pony, the North Star Bar, Underground Arts, and Legendary Dobbs. In the summer of 2011 they moved into a house in Cherry Hill, NJ together and, in the summer of 2012 they spent six months living on a mountain farm in Linden, Virginia growing their own food, living in tents, cooking every meal over an open fire, and practicing sustainable living. Out of the Beardspace has been its most active in 2013. They kicked off the warm season with their annual festival, ‘Beardfest,’ which was the most successful edition so far.
