Cancellation of Homecoming Weekend 2015

August 28, 2015 by NJProghouse

Folks,

It is with great regret that we inform you of the cancellation of Homecoming Weekend 2015.
Although we had some great support from many people, the ticket sales were greatly lacking, along with the visa issues encountered by Morglbl thus cancelling the tour they had planned, we were forced to reach this extremely difficult decision.
Please be patient as we will need time to implement the refund procedure.

Peace,
Jim Robinson and the NJProghouse Staph.

Steve Hackett reveals new bass/12 string player

March 2, 2015 by NJProghouse

SteveRoine_KennyM0261l

Prog visionary Steve Hackett has announced the addition of multi-talented guitarist Roine Stolt to his tour line-up. Stolt, known as leading light of the Flower Kings and for his association with Transatlantic, will play bass and twelve string, occasionally also joining Steve on guitar.

The legendary ex-Genesis guitarist commented: “I’m really pleased that Roine Stolt will be joining the band for the autumn shows on bass, twelve string and for some songs doubling on electric guitar with me. Roine is a truly impressive and versatile player and I particularly like his work with other bands and artists. I have enjoyed playing with him live on more than one occasion and I’m thrilled he’s going to join the team. It’s marvellous to have both Swedish talents Roine Stolt and Nad Sylvan as part of the band for these Hackett solo/Genesis Revisited shows.”

Hackett, who releases new album Wolflight on 30th March, will bring his Acolyte To Wolflight with Genesis Revisited Tour to the UK in October 2015 with 19 shows. Each performance will feature two sets, one of solo material and one of Genesis Revisited. The first will cover a vast part of Steve’s discography, with a selection of solo material from early albums including Voyage of the Acolyte & Please Don’t Touch right up to Wolflight; the second set will see Nad Sylvan take care of the vocals on the Genesis material.

The complete line-up for the tour will include Roger King on keyboards, Gary O’Toole on drums, Rob Townsend on sax, Roine Stolt on bass & 12 string guitar, Nad Sylvan on vocals and Steve Hackett on guitar and vocals. Vocalist/guitarist Amanda Lehmann will join some of the shows as special guest.

Wolflight is Steve’s first original album since ‘Beyond The Shrouded Horizon’ in 2011 and takes the listener through an imaginary journey through time and space on the eternal quest for freedom. The legendary guitarist is looking forward to bringing this latest chapter of his career on stage while re-living his musical evolution with his loyal fan base.

Beardfish announce release of new album ‘+4626-COMFORTZONE’

November 11, 2014 by NJProghouse

4626-COMFORTZONE

Swedish progressive rockers Beardfish have been hard at work on the follow-up to 2013’s ‘The Void’, and now they are pleased to reveal that their brand new eighth studio album, ‘+4626-COMFORTZONE’ will be released in North America on the 27th of January 2015.

The band had this to say about the new album: “The comfort zone is the invisible protective suit of negative thinking, almost like an entity of itself. It’s been with you since birth: your parents and your teachers and your friends and your neighbours all teaching you the way the world works – this is how it is and will be and there’s nothing you can do about it. The negative vibe is like a voice living inside of you, a companion through life. With time you start to like that voice and the place it takes you to: your comfort zone. I’m so sick and tired of it and I want to address it and maybe in that way start to work my way out of it”

The full track-listing for the album is as follows:

1.  The One Inside Part 1 – Noise In The Background
2.  Hold On
3.  Comfort Zone
4.  Can You See Me Now
5.  King
6.  The One Inside Part 2 – My Companion Throughout Life
7.  Daughter Whore
8.  Ode To The Rock ‘N’ Roller
9.  If We Must Be Apart (A Love Story Continued)
10.  The One Inside Part 3 – Relief

Look out for more information in the coming weeks!

Grammy-nominated Pink Floyd engineer Andy Jackson has confirmed he is to release his fourth solo album on November 3.

September 30, 2014 by NJProghouse

Entitled Signal To Noise, the album is described in a press release as ‘a fine modern, progressive work’ which ‘draws on Andy Jackson’s exemplary work as an engineer and producer.’ A trailer for the record has been made available to view.

Jackson says: “The album reflects on the sorting of what is important in life from the humdrum of everyday existence, and is in itself an analogy for the process of the creation of the album.”

Signal To Noise will be available as either a single CD edition or a two-disc Digipack deluxe limited edition with a 5.1 Surround Mix…………………….

Rest in peace Tom Arena

September 18, 2014 by NJProghouse

Ladies and gents it is with a heavy heart I make this announcement.
Tom Arena , friend and loyal son of NJ Proghouse and other progressive music events etc. has unexpectedly passed on while in surgery yesterday. Tom was at many a Proghouse show over the years. I was always glad when I would see him cruise through our doors wherever those Proghouse doors may have been. He will be missed. As he shuffles of this mortal coil please play a song in his honor today.

Rest in peace Tom.

Jones McGill DeCarlo: Help support their next album!

August 8, 2014 by NJProghouse

Jones McGill DeCarlo
Percy Jones | Ritchie DeCarlo | Scott McGill

Percy Jones Scott McGill Ritchie DeCarlo

“Jones McGill DeCarlo”

Consisting of legendary Fretless Bassist Percy Jones (Brand X, Eno, Soft Machine), Guitarist Scott McGill (McGill Manring Stevens/The Hand Farm/finneus gauge) and Drummer/Synthesist/Producer Ritchie DeCarlo (Ritchie Kotzen), Jones McGill DeCarlo brings creativity, compositional prowess, headphones-worthy atmospherics, and insane chops to the fore in everything they do.

The band’s previous two releases have featured cameo soundscapes by Touch Guitarist Markus Reuter of StickMen/Pat Mastelotto fame and the Legendary Bass Guru Michael Manring has done the liner notes for their second work praising their unique sound, creative compositional skills and astounding technical expertise. Their third release has been recorded and is awaiting funding for release. If you are looking for interesting creative progressive music that grooves hard, spaces way out, and serves up dizzying chops when required, then Jones McGill DeCarlo is for you.

Hello, I am Ritchie DeCarlo, drummer and producer from the band Jones McGill DeCarlo featuring Progressive Guitarist Scott McGill and the Legendary Brand X Bassist PERCY JONES!

We have completed the recording for our third album we hope to release in December 2014, but there is no label or financial backing for this release. So we are asking for your help to put this album out independently. The goal is to raise $3000.00 to cover mixing, mastering, manufacturing and digital distribution costs. We really hope to exceed this goal because we really want to give you something special in return for your support.

So any extra funds will go towards making the final product much better! If we can get close to $5000.00 we will release a limited edition Vinyl version too!! Thanks to KickStarter, packages are available for any budget, as low as $1.00 for a digital download or as high as $800.00 for a producer credit & a SNARE DRUM use during the recording and great stuff in between!

So please consider helping us out and being a part of this project. There is only a week left and every little bit helps. We GREATLY appreciate any support you can offer.
